Heidenau's History

History

Founded in 1946, as „Heidenauer Gummiwerke“ the company started with the production of molded rubber articles. After demand, ta rapid development of the market Heidenau started in 1950 with the production of tires for cars and motorcycles. To meet the growing he production in the following years has been continuously expanded. In 1953 already 100.000 tires had been produced. With the growing cycle and motorcycle market the production of those tires became more and more important for Heidenau.

In the following years Heidenau specialized inproduction of motorcycle tires.

From 1969 till 1993 Heidenau has been integrated into the „Pneumant“ group, a state enterprises of the GDR (German Democratic Republic ). During this time Heidenau was responsible for the production of all two-wheeler tires of the Pneumant brand, means all motorcycle and scooter tires in German Democratic Republic (GDR).

The Reunion ofFederal Republic of Germany and GDR caused also big economic changes and was Heidenaus chance to become a independent company again.

By the hard work of our management and the high commitment of our employees, Reifenwerk Heidenau GmbH & Co. KG has been founded in 1993.

Since that time HEIDENAU works as an independent company again.

The main focus of HEIDENAU is the production of motorcycle and scooter tires. Basing on 35 different models in 1993 our range includes today over 500 different tire models.

Basis for this successful development is the close contact to our customers who give us new challenges we can face up.

The permanent effort to meet these requirements, high quality products, flexible production processes, motivated and qualified staffare our basics to meet the requirements of our customers.
